We had a good meeting on January 8th. Pastor David Grindberg from St Olaf Lutheran Church here in Fort Dodge spoke about his trip to Norway. It was very good. He shared a lot of personal stories and insight.

Monday, September 11, 2017 will be a business meeting only.
On Monday, September 18, 2017 at 12:30 there will be a class called Cemetery Mapping with Excel. Bring your laptops and an extension cord. Please let us know if you will be attending so we can have enough power strips available. The class is being held inside the Fort Dodge Public Library. Actual class will be about an hour to hour and half with a discussion afterwards. Refreshments will be served. There is no charge for this class. Dennis Allen and Cris Nagle are the instructors.

The index was completed on July 19, 2016 and was done by Ruth Jesse. Also attached is the newspaper code index.

Ongoing Projects
We are indexing “Your Letters from Home”. These are newsletters from WWII and the Korean War that were sent to service members from Ed Breen at the radio station.
We are planning on photographing Oakland Cemetery. Volunteers are needed.
August 1, 2016 Meeting
At this meeting we will be planning for next year and setting up for Family History Month. Please come and bring your ideas!

Holiday Open House
The holiday open house will be held Saturday, Dec 12, at the Fort Dodge Public Library from 1030-1230. I hope you can attend!
Saturday Hours
We will not continue being open on Saturdays due to shortage of staff.
We will still be open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays from 11:00 to 4:00.
